About Code Enforcement
The Code Enforcement Division is responsible for ensuring compliance with the City's property maintenance code, zoning ordinance, and other applicable regulations. Our goal is to maintain the quality of life in Happytown neighborhoods and protect property values.
Code Enforcement Officers conduct inspections in response to complaints and perform proactive neighborhood sweeps to identify violations. We work with property owners to achieve voluntary compliance whenever possible.

Anonymous Complaints
Anonymous complaints are accepted; however, providing contact information allows our officers to follow up with you regarding the status of your complaint.
Enforcement Process
The Code Enforcement process generally follows these steps:
- Complaint received and logged
- Site inspection conducted by Code Enforcement Officer
- If violation confirmed, Notice of Violation issued to property owner
- Property owner given compliance period (typically 10-30 days)
- Re-inspection conducted
- If not in compliance, citation issued with fines and/or court summons
